Rifle/Pistol
The Club is permitted to utilize four ranges on Schofield Barracks to conduct its static rifle and pistol shooting activities, subject to the availability of the designated ranges and range cadre. Designated small arms ranges, permitted calibers and target distance are: (a) CR-2 and CR-2A, up to .30 caliber for rifles, .45 caliber for pistols and 12-gauge for shotguns, and the maximum target distance is 300 meters (except for the four-firing points on the right side of these ranges is 500 meters with OIC’s approval); (b) KR-3, rifle only up to .50 caliber, and maximum target distance of 1,000 meters (but no individual is permitted beyond 100 meters downrange); and (c) KR-4, up to .30 caliber for rifles, .45 caliber for pistols and 12-gauge shotguns, and the maximum target distance is the fence line.
Shooting activities are normally held on Saturdays and/or Sundays between the hours of 0900 to 1400, subject to the availability of ranges and cadre (see Calendar).
Caveat: Members are required to be read, understand and adhere to the SRGC’s standing operating procedures and policies (see Publications). Members and their accompanying guests must report to and register with the Range OIC before participating in any Club rifle and pistol shooting activities.
